Do you recall when a business and its owners were considered successful?

It was the minute the business was out of debt and still turned a profit each year....now it has to turn a bigger profit but the debt is not added into the equation to figure out the profit....just the plus figures are needed to calculate the bonus scheme and be damned with the rest.

thus the idea of economics stop working and the economics of GREED took over.

The forgotten concept of a life of value and not of prosperity took the world away from the idea of social conscience and responsibility.

Judgement Day could be a whole lot of fun for a few and not so cheery for the majority????

What would the world be like if each country and it's leaders concentrated on thier own problems instead of spreading thier beliefs by any means to every corner on the earth....? The AMERIKAN WAY...do as I say not as I do, every aspect of every other country's behaviour is the personal domain of one or another of the Amerikan agencies....running the world into ruin...and proud of it.

If economics were really about a fair market and supply and demand ...not corporate backroom deals which have no connection to economics but to personal and corporate greed....then maybe the world would wake up to the needs of people and not to the demands of businesses.

I have never understood the theory that you buy an automobile and then you pay a huge fee to have the car sent to the dealer...they can't sell the car if it isn't there so why should you pay to get them to privide thier product to you....this could be the basic starting point of what is wrong with the car companies....they won't even sell a car already on the lot , on display unless you pay the shipping?????....DUH!!!! THEY REALLY HAVE AN INFLATED OPINION OF THE IDEA OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND....now what do they do with the demand dwindling?

It is the national birth of the nation celebration day....Our king spoke of all the blessings we have to be proud of in our country...

Amerika, the world's leading fascist country, is imposing sanctions because they didn't like the election held in another country. It must have been too much like the past two in Amerika....Florida's funny count and Ohio's computer voting fiasco. How do they get the idea that with their record that they should judge someone's election?

Canada, Amerika Lite, since king Harper took over, is right in there ordering sanctions....standing behind the school yard bully and agreeing to everything said doesn't make it any more right.

I thought of a cure for all these teenage girls who get pregnant to avoid doing anything arduous, like working or anything mature like accepting any responsibilities....put them all in a trailer park outside of the city they live in so they are all together and then when their little brat grows up to be even lazier and stupider they might realize what they were like...In Gloucester's Massachusetts the 17 girls who slept with anything to get in the mommy way would be a good start.

Am I being harsh? Someone should start to spread reality around...it's not harsh just real.

If you have a country that has one thing to sell and must buy everything else from other countries shouldn't both sides have bargaining positions....a barrel of oil at $140 and a bushel of wheat for $140 a bushel....both buyers are figuratively over the barrel....both need to buy so why can't the prices come into alignment...supply and demand.

If you want to sell you must price it to sell fairly or sit on the supply and wait, risking the power of your position could change if the need or supply changed. In the meantime you have to buy food and just about everything else from outside your country....you have to pay the price...oil countries should see that their extortion can be made to work both ways...or in a fair world it should.

The one forecaster claimed that the rising cost would remove 10 million cars from the roads in the next two years....that is in Canada....any bets on the political leaders seeing and acting on transportation needs before the changes start to drastically impact the lives of the brain dead dolts who refuse to complain about the leadership you get for the money spent. The countries are all being changed by the times but so far no leader has tried to step forward and control the overpopulating through immigration or the urban sprawl so dependent on gas to reach the areas of employment....time to grow a garden, raise chickens, and live near where you work has come but the politicos do nothing until they figure out a way to line their pockets from whatever action they take.

I think I have figured it out....when a person is elected to public office of any kind the first thing that they do is bend over and get a giant suppository shoved up their butt...it's job is to sedate any honest thoughts, any logical thoughts and most importantly, any thoughts not motivated by greed.Point to prove I'm on the right track.....the rulers, not the public representatives, are going to allow Amerikan mining companies to make larger profits by letting them not bother with safe environmental disposal of waste products....instead they will be allowed to hide the poisonous crap by dumping in the lakes...and when the water table is so polluted that water is undrinkable then what? ....hide sight.Honesty, logic, and non monetary motivation would be nice now and not later when they have destroyed this country to please their masters. The politicians have kept bending over and I won't say backwards....it is more like they dropped the soap in the prison shower...they don't notice because of the endless desktop acrobatics when an Amerikan bigwig enters the room or a lobbyist with the sack of payola....now they just take the money smile and let this country taking it where they don't care if it hurts.

There is going to be a high school for black students only....where the check for weapons will result in a student getting issued one on the rare occasion they forgot their own....the washrooms will be marked dudes and hos....the language will be non English hip hop and the math class will explain finances for dealers and science will explain drugs and the manufacture....taxpayers monies well spent...all these years fighting for equality and now they finally reveal they always wanted segregation on their terms...rev up the pimp mobile and drive on to the school of racial separatism!!!!

The lords prayer....for the uninformed this was a christian country and because of wimpish politicos we have the big melting pot where we can have the lord's prayer plus prayers for 8 or 10 other religious groups....So say the prayer and remember the people who came here received benefits galore but won't be happy until this country doesn't exist and then they will run it with the same narrow minded prejudices that they fled here to get freedom from....IRONIC!!

Try going to any other country and recieve a reception into the country and get to keep your old ways and don't even learn a usable language or get a job to contribute back to the country that let them settle here....anyother country would treat you with no respect unless you conform to the existing culture and ways...no free ride...so I propose that those who hold no job and rant about thier rights be given a choice leave the country that doesn't satisfy them or relocate to the northern provinces where at least there they would aleviate the congestion in southern parts of the county.

After my comments about the free tickets to politicians and their rethinking the policy they acted the very same day at the council meeting. They waited until the end of the meeting and then they agreed to a new system of free tickets....amazingly the new system is just the old system with loop holes....they made the motion of changing but just changed the way the goods were distributed and the status quo stays happily in their favour....they have other issues to consider but must study them first...to see how the council will be impacted from a source for freebies.

Today our self appointed KING , Stevie the wonder Harper, was going to apologize for some past transgression of 75 or 100 years...what he needs to apologize for is the hand up his butt and his bobble head acceptance of things detrimental to the welfare or this country and it's national identity.Harper keeps attacking the opposition about their views but the thing is he should think about what he does and not try to use distractions to keep anything being laid at his doorstep.

In the category of, too bizarre to believe...chronic gamblers are suing casinos because of their gambling....grow up you bunch of losers...you gambled and no one made you so face your failure head on...next there will be photos of gamblers on pop cans and milk cartons admonishing people to stop them from gambling...then they will sue because they were denied their rights...WAH, WAH, crybabies...

In canada where like the rest of the world we have uncertain economic forecasts and rising everything except intelligence in the leaders, we are going to change the immigration policies. WHY??? They want to speed up the process and clear up the backlog of a million immigrants waiting to come here so they can change this country to suit themselves....Why would any sane person bring people to a country during times like these unless....wait for it ...the politicians have found a way to personally profit from this event.

Politicains everywhere are driven to remind the public who they are by getting the right photo in the news....right now none are being snapped standing near anyone or anything to do with the oil industies unless they are supporting protests.

There should be photos of their gas guzzling,polluting limos being filled on the tax dollar.

There should be photos of war mongers like Bush or Harper going to the door to tell families they cost the life of a loved one while never themselves serving in war or any of their own family members serving....

Let other countries sort out their own problems and stay focused on the problems of their own countries....when they successfully run the country without running it into the ground then they can offer advice if requested. They are in office to look after the country for everyone and not big business....

The only way to get around the cost of gas is to do the village mantality kind of lifestyle choices...grow vegetables in the yard, use a bike and have safe bike travel a necessary part of transportation planning....make manufacturing and work places the "village" around which housing exists....thinking needs to change so people are near woek and the work is near the markets.We are told food costs are rising with the fuel costs....they wouldn't if the food was grown locally instead of being from a different continent. All the brain power going into business and politics, couldn't anyone think about the outcome of the actions they took to make themselves rich.The food could stop moving and then the rich would abandon this country and move to another where they could live in luxury while what they destroyed sinks in the quagmire!How about air travel? With computers keeping track of everything you would think that the number of nearly half empty planes flying could be reduced. Set a window for a flight time and crunch passengers from two flights into one....save gas....save on polution....save on crowded airspace. Politicians are arguing about people having the right to keep chickens in their yards and have clothes lines.....do they really need to debate on every little thing so the rich can have the last say.....Oh the rich....contributed so little...took so much and showed only self interest.

Today on an interview with the national news, a union representative started on about the way things are and what needed to be done. He is sayning things I have been talking about for ten years...only he has his own self interest at the base of his motivation. If industry and the economy collapse badly then unions won't be able to collect dues from the unemployed and the greedy indifferent unionist will be unemployed as well. Unions don't help anyone or I should say they don't help everyone equally.

This union spokesman complained about the way management gets huge bonuses and retirement packages even when the companies fail to make a profit. Well how about that ....the idea of rewarding failing upwards.

The world started to slide off the path in 1970. The politicians, corporate executives and corporate attitudes changed...the customer was never right....the consumer will buy and accept what we tell him to no matter how shoddy. If an excuse is given to explain the rising prices then the public was just suppose to pay. The advertising world made sweat a bad thing ...poverty a crime of the poor and any imperfection in a person bacame a reason to trat them as less than human. The funniest part to me being the people who created this mess all claim religious faith. Faith in the moneydealers in the temples!

Look for the wizards who manipulate your lives and then think about pulling back the curtain. You naver see a movie about the campaigning reporter exposing the backroom dealings or the openly offensive treatment of your rights. Today in the newspaper there was an article about the shrinking polar ice cap was now revealing passages through the artic and oil resources under the sea. Countries were making territorial claims over the areas ....what happen to worrying about global warming and the future consequences.....OIL!!!

The very idea of stepping back from the abyss and rethinking how things are done just won't happen. Corporations rule the world and the people in politics you hope will protect and guard the future are all kneeling at the moneylenders temple. If there really was a concern for the future then the planning for a sane way to live would be well under way and not left to the handful of tree huggers and environmental messiahs to save everything. Left to people with no real power and no real hope....but they will at least be able to smugly say to the oil and corporate bandits....at the end....I told you so!

In Canada there is a car manufacturer making an electric car that works but the car doesn't sell in Canada because the politicos who ramble on to sound interested won't follow through and endorse this wonder car. It might just cut into oil profits....and some of that lube is needed to wedge the Amerikan self interest's hand in the politicos collective butts. This millenium the stock market crash will be a crisis of monetary faith . Canada , a country were ideals were more than words to create the illusion of democracy , is now a country where the leader thinks himself King and the voters are the lowly subjects. We have to look to the political party running the smoke and mirror show to figure which way the corruption flows. If a Liberal leads then the money goes right out of the public purse into the golden parachut fund for party faithful and if a Conservative runs the mess then they work the old Liberal tricks while traiterously sell off the sovereigncy of the country to American government and big business associates of the current crop of ignorant redkneck American politicos.

I started out hoping for an honest politician .... like wandering with the lantern in the night searching for an honest man. I think I would settle for a few hard hitting journalists who were willing to keep asking hard questions and demanding answers. Have the Canadian politicians succeeded in diluting the people of this country into a wash of selfish sects that can't or won't look to see what the future is going to be like for their future generations. They could all be waiting to move out of the country after stripping away it's identity. Back to their original homelands which we constantly hear the whining about how they loved their country even though this country is okay. The "conservative" rulers of Canada are selling off the energy resources of the country to amerika .....the Atomic energy commission to General Electric ..... a company like so many amerikan pollution experts .... expert at polluting .... this is reminiscent of the Amerikan government trying to sell off port security to an Arabian company.... the profits must have been tempting to even consider such a deal when anyone or anything in the racial profile since 911 gets the big security search up to and including the cavity search with cattle prod.... and a trip to a CIA prison with no exit or rights .... ?

Scooter Libby getting his sentence commuted is just another nail in the coffin holding any ideals of democracy we might harbour.

He did the crime and he did it for the vice weasel... trickie dickie cheney .... now he walks out free waiting for his pardon which will surely follow. At the white house press conference the press secretary was asked if the adminitration would explain and appologize for this affront to justice .... he flippantly said I appologize for the administration .... the press were outraged.

How can they be shocked? They must have seen the disintegration of Democracy .... fixed votes and corrupt spending. Someone , probably Trickie Dickie Cheny , is the puppet master of the sideshow.

America is on the prowl to spread democracy , small "d" , to the rest of the world .... they should try to reinstate Democracy to America before sharing the new small "d" version with the world.

Scooter , what kind of a name for a grown man is that , should be in jail despite the fact his crime was done for his leader. With Scooter for a name his cellmate could coo "scoot a little closer" and he could write his memoirs from prison..... including lots of intimate facts about his new friend.

At least in "Watergate" the presidents men fell into jail time even if the two lead weasels got off the hook. Democracy is dying quickly and it is being helped by the elected who rule not manage ..... the press who are too lazy to hound for the truth and expose it ...... and the common man who sits and accepts the power exerted over him as normal .... when it all goes to hell in a hand cart so many that could stop it will be looking to lay blame and excuse themselves as victims.....

I feel the need to ramble....

The moral compass.....part of the built in operators guide we all use to have....a sense of wonder, a sense of shame, a joy for life not possessions, and the aforementioned moral compass made the world I grew up in a place of beauty and awe.....we never worried about locking the door or fought with the neighbours for a reason we couldn't remember afterwards ..... we never had the things they tell us we need to live today.....everything to make life run faster ....I am starting to believe slowing down would be dangerous...the impact from anyone realizing they whorship greed and have "idols" called celebrities .....the long ignored moral compass could throw everyone into a panic. Society is too screwed up to stop in it's head on rush to get to the finish line.

Music....we use to listen to the music and it was for dancing, for fun, for informing us and it was free to listen to .....the artist was judged only on how much we enjoyed, appreciated, or wondered at their music....not at how much they can swear or incite people to hate....not question .....the way artists raised people's awareness of the world they lived in ......we didn't judge the artist ...he was a kindred spirit......now we measure the Booty on the female artist and not the songs or their quality ....we look at them more than we listen.....I miss the past performers who were loved for the music.....now we couldn't have a Janis Joplin, a Joan Baez, a Janis Ian or so many more......we have cookie cutter world for music that requires we see the music not hear it......if we were only able to listen to the music would we want other music....do the blind find a big ass or foul mouth to their liking or do they still find a well turned phrase and a great musical hook to their taste ..... ask yourself if Motown were today would anyone listen?

The moral compass we all have just most seem to have turned it over so they could get more have more and not have the nagging inner voice saying the compass is out of wack. I couldn't turn my compass off or hide it. I had a curse of observation and since so many won't face the compass I watched the world skew out of perspective ..... every occassion were I couldn't stop myself from speaking out I got run over by the stampede of moral lemmings heading for oblivium..... I stand in the herd of blank faces and think is getting run over worth the aggravation then I glance at the compass .... hold my tongue as much as I can and hold the course I'm on ....the lemmings be damned.

Watched a classic zombie movie and the zombies liked to eat brains.....jump to the present day and anyone with a couple of non self centered brain cells would escape long enough for the zombies to starve to death on the masses....the Zombie who gets a Britney, Paris or similar person would feel like they had chinese food....you eat it but are never satisfied you had enough to eat.

Do you wonder as I do if gangster movies, like The Godfather are the new business of the mafia? Do the crime then film the lifestyle and cash in twice.

I saw the previews for Sicko , the new Michael Moore film/documentary ......I wonder if it will ever be more profitable to cure a disease/illness than just sell new pills with more side effects than marriage.

I read a new thing for the 20 to 30 year olds is Viagra......why? Can't they see the excitement or is everything being lived at super speed....... I just need to think about Christina Ricci.

I just felt compelled to write....Paris Hilton is out of jail...ideally she would have been cellmates with some poor woman in jail for a similar offence ...only the poor person would be serving 6 months.....ideally Paris the little princess would leave after becoming the "bitch" to her cellmate and learning about the regular world of hard knocks....oh well too bad....

Elected officials ....I've been watching CNN and the Dick Cheney business where he interprets the way things have always worked to a new view of what works for Dickie.....if he were president we could call him Trickie Dickie the second....

Elected Officials....they think they are elected to rule a country....oh no....they are the managers we elected to oversee the country we live in and they should be eligible to be fired for not following the basic rules of common sense and decency....

Celebrities? politicians think of going to anywhere and any occasion for a photo opportunity.....they parade around for publicity on par with a street corner social directer parading her wares to make her "wages"......rarely does a politician complain about photographers.....hell they would even cart around a street lamp to get good lighting.

The non elected "celebrity" complains about the invasion into their private lives by photo hounds....but let the publicity stop and they get out the street light and pose shamelessly.

If they want to do something for the environment ,they could cancel all the trash magazines and show they really care .... not just publicity posturing. So many celebs are pointing out their concern about the world condition but they aren't giving up any of the monster homes and huge cars to back up the claims.

The number of people who are on the elevated stratosphere of status is comical....the new laws for the special people are the sign of a decaying civilization......I'm just jealous , I want to be special too......with the big entourage to take care of me.....

Jennifer Lopez supposedly has over 100 assistants ... one, whose whole job is eyebrow maintenance.... what does she do ? reality check...

Paris Hilton who sees herself as a celebrity....has only one worthwhile contribution to this world....her death scene in the movie "House of Wax" raised the movie to cult status...people rent the film just to cheer her death....social comentary....Atlantis sank into the ocean America will whimper into the shadows.

Every great civilization ended by disintegrating slowly from within until the neighbours could march in and take over......America is on schedule to slip into a moral quagmire and soon....

New Orleans , new justice standards, and a new morality ....don't mothers explain to their daughters about putting on underwear....I feel that I have seen enough shots of celebrity trailer trash ......America won't be lucky enough to sink into the ocean to hide it's shame ...taking for granted that they are still capable of feeling shame.

Some old time television shows I enjoyed were recently cancelled and replaced by "reality"shows. No actors or writers or concept....the reality show has "actors" performing an edited story in controlled conditions and the most American actor wins....i.e. most arrogant ,pushy and obnoxious. I propose new reality shows.

The show would run for a few weeks on a cable channel while the "actors " wear hidden cameras and microphones. The audience would be able to vote at the end of the limited show for a winner sort of like American Idol where the popular can win over the marginally more talented.

Reality shows without any safety net or editing that I would like to see....

A group of very young looking 18 to 20 year old men would serve as alter boys in catholic churches.....don't drop that rosary sonny....and their lives would be caught on a continous show for a month.....uncensored this could be fun....drinking the saramental wine anyone.

Young women would be placed as secretarys for politicians and the fun could begin....who gets propostioned first gets bonus points.

Participants in a job related show where they are put to work for the post office in Canada and the one that doesn't need drug and alcohol counselling when the show ends..... wins.

A show similar to the apprentice only really challenging. The people would have to find a job that paid enough for them to actually afford to live a life without help from the parents or anyone and the one whose succeeds in the audiences opinion ...winner.

They could combine COPS and the reality of a rookie and we could watch the fear as they patrol the lovely world of urban America.

Any ideas ....submit them to the cheap lazy television network executives.

Today I feel about America.....the great nation that can't even fix New Orleans damage because it might get in the way of future oil exploration in the bayou....the Bush family should be characterized as oily salesmen. The world is always in danger of being helped by America...helped right into oblivion. America has so many enemies....that must be the reason they have spent more on military and security since WW2 than they spent on education or health and welfare.

Remember they won WW2....or so they say......the British and Canadians and other allies served tea and supplied women for the "heroic" american soldiers. After their great victories ,using foreign soldiers to lead the charge and foreign scientists to teach them about rockets and atomic bombs, they drew a line in the ground and if you weren't on the side of the line with their best interests then you were suspect.

The cold war was the first excuse to spread their influence to the rest of the world...too bad it's like having Satan selling bibles outside the church....somehow you can never feel he really has his soul in it. They could have crushed communism in eastern Europe and Russia just by supplying cheap and plentiful basics....bread,tissue and canned goods....alot cheaper the the cold war and a lot quicker.

Since the people running things make money off the companies selling war then they will support war like posturing... if it ever becomes possible to make riches from peace we might stand a chance.

They have become a nation of "have to excess" or "have nothing" ......they woship at the temple of the dollar and celebrity excuses everything. The idea that others don't agree is the same as saying "enemy of the state"

In Canada the taxes are the highest in the world except for Japan....and we have a leader with Bush and his cronies putting their collected hand up the homophobic leader's ass as if he were a hand puppet with a bobble head. We are neighbours to America and we can't find a leader with the guts to tell them the truth about what they are like and what the world of ordinary people think of them. Anyone feel frustrated?

I keep having the thought that politicians ,especially Stephen Harper, would be more attentive to this country if they had to worry about public trials and then prison . Try to envision a homophobic elected official trying not to drop the soap in prison with all the criminals they keep letting wander the country.

In Canada the federal elected members of government are going on vacation now until October......you really get your moneys worth with these guys....where else can you get those vacation days? Just remember they want to tax water.

6. I saw that politicians were "thinking" of arranging a commission to look into some government business. The people put in the commission will be lawyers, classmates of politicians, and they will be paid buckets of money to evaluate what the politicians did.

Why not let the law enforcement professionals look into everything that comes up for questioning? After they have investigated the problem, the supreme court judges should advise if there is enough evidence to move forward with charges. Elected officials would lose the right to hand pick whoever is making the decision on legality of their actions.

Stephen Harper should like that since he is always going on about accountability.

7.The results of votes on items in goverment should be available and should show which way each person voted. The things they vote on or makes deals about should be printed in non political speak so there are not hidden agendas passing through government.

A case in point: the Ontario Liberals gave themselves a 40% pay increase....but they also buried other benefits and raises in the same motion ...none of which made any great stir.....do you think the person you elected deserves 40% and you don't know all the small print ....the provincial reps get a raise equal to any federal raise over and above the 40%.

8 and more but first the reason you know so little is that the information sources are all owned by individuals with enough personal reasons to cater to the elected officials that they are never going to open the communication lines and the government likes it that way. If you subscibe to a newspaper to be informed....unsubscibe. Save your money to pay the next ridiculous tax that is put on your backs.

We have people collecting millions in severanse pay for mismanaging goverment offices.....The politicians need places to put thier friends and relatives in profitable posts.

I think the Pardon Now program is possibly such an agency....what country would sell pardons to convicted criminals? CANADA would!!!!

There are gun crimes but no punishments....if you aren't a citizen ....deportation without discussion. The convicted should get prison farms to grow their own food. Gun crimes should equal no priviledge,no soft treatment and no deals.

It seems every politician eventually professes to the need to make the government accountable.

If they really meant it they need only follow a few simple steps

1. If someone wishes to run for any elected position or accept a high ranking non elected government post , they should make all of their personal finances public. I mean truly public. When they leave offfice we will know how much they accumulated while "serving the people"

2. They should have to make public all of their spending while in office. If they run their political lives and offices the way they run the country it should be interesting seeing the claims for travel and food and entertainment.

3.The politician who runs for reelection should be forced to publish his finances from his previous term in office and it should be distributed with his campaign flyers. The claims he makes should be audited against his claims in office so the public knows if he just lives the taxpayer high life.

4. The number of days he actually attended to the house of commons or where he is elected to should be published at the time of re-election.

5.The amount of money he recieved in any fashion should be itemized and published at the time of re-election.

If the politician had to send out his accounts to the voters and do so before a re-election we could see book keeping that would make gansters proud or a lot of people too frightened to run twice....

The time of the toad refers to the act of sitting back and observing government taking away any dissenters to the agenda they have set out. In Germany while Hitler consolidated his power he slowly removed intellectuals, political figures and any group that might question his authority....the toads would gather to chat and read what passed for newspapers and drink coffee. When a car would pull up and men would take someone away the rest of the "Toads" would silently say ...."better him than me" or "he wasn't loyal and deserved to be taken for interrogation". One day only one remained and the car arrived....too late for toads to make a fuss.

The title is from the book of the same name by Dalton Trumbo. He was one of the Hollywood 10 who McCarthy and his henchman Richard Nixon declared as communist during the 1950's witch hunt in America. The men named were turned in by their friends and neighbours....even though these men fought in Europe against the facists.......the time of the toad in America .

To start....How did the conservative party in Canada afford to run that sham election? They catered the ads to immigrants whom they don't like but wanted their votes. The campagn was a smear all the way through...ps I am not for any political party....They should all be wearing orange jumpsuits and sharing a cell with some of the criminals their policies help proliferate.

Next I'll continue my love fest with the carpet baggers in every political office.
